Ziba Sertbay

Ziba Sertbay is a social psychologist and PhD candidate specializing in prejudice and discrimination, with a focus on LGBTI+ phobia and speciesism. As both a researcher and activist, Ziba explores the psychological mechanisms behind discrimination against non-human animals and the intersections of various forms of oppression. Her work aims to challenge societal norms that reinforce speciesism and promote a more just and inclusive world for all beings. At the International Animal Rights Conference 2025, Ziba will bring a social-psychological perspective to the conversation on animal rights, shedding light on how biases shape attitudes and behaviors toward animals.
