I was born in 1971 in Giessen, Germany, and returned there in 1991 to study veterinary medicine. In 2000, I started a doctorate thesis at the University of Konstanz on the topic of developing and validating an animal-free method for toxicity testing (replacement). Since then, I have been specializing in non-animal methods (NAMs) and the replacement of animal experimentation. Since 2020, I have been working for the German organization Menschen für Tierrechte (People for Animal Rights) and have extended my portfolio to primarily ending factory farming as well as supporting animal-free farming and a plant-based diet.
