I am a research associate and lecturer at the Center for Interdisciplinary Women's and Gender Studies at the University of Oldenburg and at Düsseldorf University of Applied Sciences in the Department of Social and Cultural Studies. I am currently pursuing a PhD on the intersections of species belonging, gender, and racialization in contemporary film. My research focuses on interlocking systems of oppression, particularly the entanglements of human inequalities and speciesism, examining queer and de-anthropocentric aesthetic strategies in contemporary cultural representations.
Alongside my academic work, I have over 10 years of experience in diversity, equity, and inclusion, as well as in political and cultural education. I facilitate workshops and training programs on human-animal relations, anti-discrimination, and sexuality education. I am also active in animal rights advocacy and co-produce an animal rights podcast (www.tierrechtspodcast.de). I am a member of Mensch Tier Bildung e.V., an educational association committed to fostering critical engagement with human-animal relations with a focus on animals in agriculture.
