Jordi Casamitjana

Jordi is a vegan zoologist originally from Catalonia but a UK resident for over 30 years. He has been an animal rights activist for decades and has wide experience working professionally in the animal protection movement. In addition to scientific research, he has worked mostly as an undercover investigator, animal welfare consultant, and animal protection campaigner, both freelance and for reputable animal protection organizations. He has been an ethical vegan since 2002, and in 2020, he secured the legal protection from discrimination of all ethical vegans in Great Britain in a landmark employment tribunal case that was discussed all over the world. His legal victory led to the publication of his book "Ethical Vegan: A Personal and Political Journey to Change the World", and since then, he has become a professional writer, having written more than 2000 articles on veganism and animal protection. In December 2025, Jordi published his second non-fiction book, titled "Why Vegans Don't: a Philosophical Guide to Vegan Behaviour".
