Patricia Welty

Patricia Welty has a JD from American University and an LLM in animal law from Lewis & Clark. Patricia was a contact attorney in DC and eventually left to found her nonprofit A Vegan Life. Her nonprofit holds events that promote a vegan lifestyle. In 2016, she thru-hiked the Appalachian Trail and raised money for elephant conservation in Africa. In 2024, she was selected to be a legacy legal fellow with the Earth Law Center and continues to work on Rights of Nature projects. She has presented on the topic of animal law and Rights of Nature at conferences including the UK Centre for Animal Law Conference, and the National Animal Rights Conference in DC.
