This will be an interactive workshop where Shakira will encourage lots of energy from participants. Shakira will use footage, images, and a worksheet to take away with lots of value for anyone working alongside animals. Shakira will discuss basic animal care needs for the most common species rescued from abusive situations, common mistakes, prevention, good care practice, disease consideration, injury approach, handling, behavior, transport, environmental considerations, safety, and some case studies of her experiences. Animal care knowledge goes alongside any direct actions from occupations to rescues, social media posts, and advocacy. This workshop will be invaluable and hopefully will create some inspiration and, in turn, result in better animal care which we must strive for.
