This presentation evaluates different institutional reforms for the political representation of animals proposed by political theorists and animal rights advocates. While many of the proposed reforms have merit, they often have pitfalls that make them unlikely in the near future or less impactful than intended. Given the urgent need for change, this presentation argues for an institutional reform that is considered achievable in the short term and could effectively promote animal interests.
