Katya Burns is an animal rights activist, political scientist, human rights advocate, and independent consultant working in international public health. She is also a strong proponent of animal rights and a vegan of 24 years. Katya holds a Ph.D. in Political Economy from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, has spent over 15 years living and working on public health and human rights in Asia and Africa, and speaks French, Russian, Chinese, and Japanese. In 2020, Katya received a research grant from the Culture and Animals Foundation, on Introducing Animals` Rights into Global Development Strategies.
