Laura has been an animal rights activist for over 21 years, working with many groups both in Ireland and internationally. She formed the National Animal Rights Association (NARA) in 2007, a voluntary, vegan, consistently anti-oppression, non-hierarchical animal rights group based in Dublin. NARA works at street, community, national and political levels to advance rights for animals - the biggest success to date being the ban on fur farming in Ireland. Laura is involved in human rights campaigns as well (anti-fascist, anti-racist, bodily autonomy, LGBTQIA+ campaigns), active in the trade union movement, and local community work too.
