Open rescue and investigation workshop

PRE-CONFERENCE WORKSHOP

Room B

Thu, 03.09.2026  09:00-13:00  Central European Time (CET)

Approximately 23 billion animals are currently suffering on factory farms globally. While they aim to operate in secrecy, we have the power to shine a light on their abuses and help the animals they exploit. In this 4-hour workshop, participants can learn the basics of how to investigate factory farms and liberate animals through the strategy of open rescue.

This workshop will focus on investigations and rescues conducted through entering factory farms and documenting conditions with handheld cameras and/or the installation of hidden cameras. It will not teach participants how to investigate by being hired as an employee.

The workshop will cover the strategy of open rescue, basic biosecurity best practices, entrance tactics, team structuring, and more.

Note: This workshop will start before the actual conference. There will be free coffee, tea, and water available during the workshop, and the workshop will end on time, so you can still get lunch on Thursday, before the official start of the IARC2026.
