Navigating veganism in your personal life

PRESENTATION

Room A + online

Many of us have been the lone vegan in our social circles. Taking on this role can be taxing and isolating as you try to fit in while upholding your values. I will discuss these feelings, drawing on personal experiences, to foster community and debate ways to support yourself in this position. The peer pressure, jokes, and lack of understanding from our non-vegan friends, families, and partners can push us away. For this reason, I will focus on how to handle these dynamics and situations. Finally, I will delve into the importance of incorporating broad perspectives into your social groups as an advocacy pathway and into how to spread veganism in your personal life successfully.
