The state of farmed animals in Uganda and how traditional African society beliefs could play a key role to reduce animal suffering
Nabaasa Innocent Amumpaire via Zoom

Nabaasa Innocent Kashobera's session will focus on the state of farmed animals in Uganda and how traditional African society beliefs could play a key role in reducing animal suffering. She will share about veganism in the Ugandan context and how technological advancement is leading to increased animal suffering, a practice that isn't predominantly African. She will share about breaking barriers to introduce veganism in a country where 75% of the population depends on agriculture for livelihood, including animal agriculture, and how she is slowly bursting the cultural and religious norms about animal product consumption.
