My name is Jerry Vlasak, and I currently serve as one of three press officers with the North American Animal Liberation Press Office. I am a licensed medical doctor and surgeon, long active in the movement; I have spoken at many conferences around the US over the last 25 years and continue to do so. I have been active with many animal rights organizations over the years, including serving on the board of directors at Sea Shepherd Conservation Society, founding chapters of the Animal Defense League in Connecticut and southern California, and traveling the world on behalf of Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine. As a former vivisector myself, I have spoken out not only in the scientific arena about the horrors of vivisection, and the benefits of a plant-based diet, but have also embraced controversial topics such as breaking the law to battle animal exploitation and abuse.
