Speak up for animal liberation
How our everyday language helps the movement
Mich Dressel-MacFadden

Language is a powerful tool that can be used to help the animal liberation movement. This presentation examines the ways in which speciesism is frequently propagated in everyday speech, and explores some pragmatic and practical methods of countering this. We will look at the mechanisms of speciesist language itself, followed by specific examples of speciesist language in action, as well as some possible alternatives.

There will be a separate discussion session held after the presentation in which we can look at additional examples in more detail. If there is a particular speciesist phrase or word from your own language that you would like to discuss, please feel free to contact me in advance at michele.dressel@gmail.com.

Further information about the discussion can be found here.
