Sarah Heiligtag has studied philosophy, economics and politics in Ireland, France and Switzerland. While getting involved in direct action, she also started to teach ethics and animals rights at Swiss universities. Coming to the conclusion that a barren class room will not sustainably help students to make the connection(s) and change their minds, she developed the idea of a place where ethics can be experienced and talked about. This led her to the foundation of the Hof Narr farm sanctuary and center of ethics. As she had to pass farming school in order to be able to rent the required farmland she got a good grip of the problems inherent to the system of farming.
