The moral blind spots in the animal rights community
Stijn Bruers

Suppose we are all vegan and we have ended all anthropogenic exploitation of animals. Is this our end goal? Or are there other problems lurking? This presentation deals with our remaining moral blind spots, such as our underestimation of wild animal suffering, problems in population ethics and harmful practices in vegan agriculture. These remaining problems do not yet have clearcut and feasible solutions, but at least we should acknowledge these problems and look for solutions with an open mind. We have to be aware of our cognitive biases and moral illusions that mislead us, generate moral blind spots and prevent us from developing a truly antispeciesist ethic.
