Sharon Núñez has been an animal rights activist for over 10 years and worked for several organizations until she cofounded Igualdad Animal / Animal Equality in 2006.
She currently directs the organization with Javier Moreno and Jose Valle and works coordinating campaigns in Spain, England, Italy and Venezuela. She has also worked in several investigations such as the pig investigation presented by Igualdad Animal / Animal Equality in May 2010 that generated an important debate in Spanish media. On the 22nd of June Sharon and 11 other Spanish animal rights activists were arrested, their homes searched and investigated in the first attempt by the authorities to attack the growing animal rights movement in Spain.
Sharon Núñez is also involved in the campaign "United Against Repression" since June, a campaign that seeks to end the repression the movement is currently undergoing in Spain.
