Jan-Harm De Villiers

Jan-Harm De VilliersJan-Harm de Villiers is a legal philosopher and lecturer in the School of Law at the University of South Africa. He holds BComm (Law) (cum laude), LLB (cum laude) and LLM (Jurisprudence) (cum laude) degrees from the University of Pretoria and is currently engaged in preparatory reading for a Doctorate degree. He has been published in several accredited journals, presented papers on animal ethics at both national and international conferences, and is also involved in the field of social activism. He is a co-founder of the Society for People, Environment and Animal Kindness (SPEAK), an organization that promotes respect towards all people, animals and the environment by raising awareness of the law relating to animals and the interconnectedness of these different elements of the ecosystem.
