Computer security & privacy
Heiko Weber

The usage of computers, the Internet and various other modern media has become a substantial part of most animal rights work. Even animal rights protests and campaigns have moved partly to the virtual world. The advantages of modern media do however also bear numerous risks. This workshop will introduce some of the most common risks when using computers and the Internet and provides hands-on examples of how to ensure confidentiality and privacy when using the modern media.

This workshop will also give some insight into the source tapping ("Quellen TKÜ") which the German government and probably others have tried to install in recent times, to be able to do surveillance of computer users who are encrypting their network communication.
