Lisa Kemmerer

Professor Emeritus Dr. Lisa Kemmerer (www.lisakemmerer.com) is an internationally known philosopher-activist and author promoting peace, compassion, justice, and total liberation through public speaking, research, and writing. She founded and works with the non-profit, Tapestry, a vanguard knowledge-generating force helping to build a kinder and more peaceful world. Kemmerer is known for her work in intersectional justice, ecofeminism, environmental ethics, religion and animals (www.animalsandreligion.org), and animal liberation.

Dr. Kemmerer taught ethics and religious studies at university for 20 years and has written over 100 articles and thirteen books, including Vegan Ethics: AMORE, a core sourcebook for animals studies and vegans in general; Animals and World Religions, the only systematic, comprehensive examination of religious ethics and animals across major traditions; In Search of Consistency, a systematic coverage of animal ethics across disciplines, complete with Kemmerer's own moral theory; Oppressive Liberation, the most comprehensive study of sexism in animal activism, complete with hard data; and Eating Earth, a concise yet deep examination of environmental ethics and dietary choice, still the only book that includes animal agriculture, fishing, and hunting.
