I am Lesley Fleuren and I live in the Netherlands. I have participated in animal rights activism for about 2.5 years now. During a snorkeling holiday in Egypt over a year ago, I saw the gorgeous underwater world and felt sorry that I didn`t advocate for fish. I silently promised I would pick up the fight for them, but there were hardly any events I could join. So my husband and I now reach out to activists, organizations, and animal/nature lovers. We try to teach the public that fish are intelligent and sentient individuals by sharing experiences from our snorkeling trips, promoting plant-based alternatives for seafood, and encouraging people to protect and advocate for fish and ocean life. We use the name `Vissenbelangen` which literally translates to `fish interests`.
