Inclusive language on the campaign trail |
Luke Stange |
Advances in justice have happened incrementally and largely through legislative changes. Galvanising such political will requires broad based support. This discussion will be confined to exploring the fundamentals of inclusive language and how it is used in successful campaigns. I will draw upon Animals Australia as an example; their campaigns on live exports and live-baiting in greyhound racing have garnered mainstream attention and led to real changes on the ground. It is hoped this discussion will sharpen our pencils in pitching our campaigns and make us more effective communicators. |
