Susan Roberts

Susan RobertsPhilosopher Susan Roberts teaches the principles of veganism to audiences of primary school children, youth as well as adults. Her contribution to the panel "Teaching liberation" provides a direct comparison between the ways children and adults reflect upon moral questions regarding animals and our relationship to them. In doing so, Susan stresses the importance of working with young children to effectively undo carnism for an anti-speciesist long-term future. Drawing on her own activist experience Susan describes the general rapport children have with animals, the empathy they feel for them and the ways the adult world of education directs their morals towards speciesism.
