Kristina Mering has been active in animal rights organizations in Estonia since 2006. She studies sociology in Tallinn University and focuses on sociological and critical animal studies with the aim to contribute to animal rights activism from a sociological perspective. She has studied and done interviews with slaughterhouse workers, animal rights activists and her latest research project touches the representatives of the fur industry. She is one of the founders of animal advocacy organization Loomus.
