"Truckin`, I`m a goin` home. Whoa whoa baby, back where I belong, back home, sit down and patch my bones, and get back truckin` on..." Each year, countless farm animals fall — or even leap — from slaughter-bound trucks. Most of the survivors are put right back into the "food system" or summarily killed. Yet, every once in a while, a few lucky ones find their way to safe sanctuary. "Truckin`" chronicles the lives of several of these "chosen ones" whose lives were forever changed when they escaped from dire circumstances and suddenly found themselves living as free, beloved, sentient beings. Through the film, you will come to know some of these individuals, experiencing with them their challenges and joys adjusting to their newfound liberty. "Truckin`" is an uplifting glimpse into the unique bliss experienced by animals rescued just hours from slaughter. Rated G for all audiences. After viewing the film, the audience will be invited to discuss their perspectives and provide input, which will be incorporated into the final cut in order to make the message most effective for a mainstream, conventional, and worldwide audience. |
