Robert Molenaar

Robert Molenaar

Robert Molenaar is a founding member of the Belgian/Dutch Anti-Vivisection Coalition (AVC). Since 2007, the AVC has effectively campaigned for the cessation of experiments on animals and has successfully rescued a number of laboratory animals. Robert is one of the main organizers behind the closure of an animal testing facility, stopped the building of a new one, introduced legislation and halted cat-and primate experiments.

He is one of the committee members for the first European Citizen Initiative to ban animal testing. For October 2013 1 million signatures are needed for this initiative.

Robert has been advocating animal rights for over 15 years and has been involved in campaigning against fur, vivisection, circuses, and other forms of animal abuse. He is a vegan and believes that animals are entitled to the possession of their own lives and that their most basic interests — such as an interest in not suffering — should be afforded the same consideration as the similar interests of human beings.
