Acts of civil disobedience like like hunt sabs, lock ons, roof occupations, and seat blockades are a strong form of resistance which unlike ALF activities can be performed openly and in the public and usually have only a limited amount of legal consequences, sometimes even none. I have taken part in about 15 hunt sabs and about a dozen actions like lock ons, seat blockades and roof occupations. In this talk I will talk about experiences I and the the other participants of the actions have gathered during that time, and will discuss topics like how were the actions planned, how were they carried out, what was necessary for them, how was the media work done, what special issues were paid attention to, what were the legal consequences, etc. The legal issues show the situation in Germany but hopefully there will be enough time to discuss the situation in other countries with people in the audience as well.
