Stephen Marcus Finn

Stephen Marcus FinnAlthough having campaigned in several countries for the rights of the oppressed (including blacks, women, gays, and animals), Stephen Marcus Finn is generally known as an academic, a novelist, playwright, and poet. A professor of English with a doctorate in communication, he started his working career as a farm laborer and entertainer, before becoming a journalist, teacher, academic, and writer. He has been a vegan for decades and aims much of his public-speaking and writing on animal rights at young people. He is heavily involved in the worlds of classical music, avant-garde theatre and cutting edge art in South Africa. His wife, children, and mother-in-law, who are all vegans or vegetarians, are also involved in human, animal, and environmental well-being. He works closely with Beauty Without Cruelty (South Africa) and is a founding member of Speak! (Society for People, Environment and Animal Kindness).
